Coming Home To Clare
August 20th to 27th
All are welcome to avail of the lectures, discussions, presentations, visits and tours throughout the week. The results of the Talty Family Roots Project will be explored and presented in a fun, educational, and rewarding manner. Along with this, there is much to offer in terms of holidaying in County Clare and in getting to know the places which are not normally on the tourist maps, along with the regular tourist haunts. It is hoped that in participating we will all get to know each other a little better and enjoy the experience of walking the paths our ancestors walked. Perhaps there will be “a flash of recognition and the embers of kinship will glow” John O Donaghue
Base is the Falls hotel Ennistymon and the tours are based around North, Mid and South West Co Clare.
Tours of the area of origin of the Talty name around the Miltown Malbay area will be scheduled including Inagh and Quilty. There will also be a tour of South Clare taking in Kilkee and Kilrush and Carrigaholt. Ennis town will be visited along with Bunratty. There will also be an extensive tour of the North Clare Burren area and cliffs of Moher.
